Louis Venturelli - Artist Meet + Greet

Louis Venturelli (b. 1989)

is an American abstract artist born and raised in New York City. His current series, inspired by museums throughout the world, explores the relationships, impressions, and memories we have with cultural institutions and objects of artistic expression. Through his work, Venturelli employs color and composition to create powerful artistic experiences. Since establishing his practice in 2020, his work has been featured in renowned publications such as Vogue, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, and has found a notable home in The Moore Hotel located in Chelsea, New York. Venturelli's paintings transcend visual representation, offering a compelling exploration of the enduring dialogue between viewers, cultural institutions, places of queer heritage, and the essence of artistic expression. In June 2024, Venturelli published his first book and photography project, titled In the Pines, which serves as a modern-day record of Fire Island Pines with photographs taken over the last five summer seasons.

2024

“Hit the Showers,” the spring-summer 2025 collection inspired by the homoerotic tension, vulnerability—and hijinks—of men’s team sports, particularly within the locker room setting. Drawing from the designer’s own past playing team sports, this SS25 collection lives in the liminal space between dirtiness and cleanliness.

Our Devouring hour

Kan Seidel (@kandyboots) is the latest artist on view at The Visitors Center in Fire Island Pines. A frequent visitor of the island, Kan debuts new work that explores the comedy and tragedy of queer desire. His work uses textural strokes and vivid colors to create worlds of delightful perversion. Expanding beyond his painting practice, Kan's ceramic sculptures depict the ecstasy of queer bodies in space.

Heaven is a place inside

Introducing 'Heaven Is a Place Inside' My new series of paintings that I have been working on over the recent months.

"When you walk into a room with my new series, what hits you first? It's not the color or the style, it's a sensation of intimacy.

That's what my latest collection is all about.

“I'm fascinated by the way we connect with each other. These paintings, they're like snapshots of when souls collide. And it's not just romantic touch, it's about all of it, comfort, reassurance, longing... everything"
