Patrick Church’s Slow Like Honey moves with the languid charge of a late-afternoon embrace. A figure emerges from a field of cream and ink, traced in soft lines and sluiced with tar-black drips and warm ochre. An example of the kind of intimacy Church paints so well—where vulnerability and desire share the same outline.
