In 3 Ocean Walk, John MacConnell treats a familiar Pines house like a portrait sitter: angles steady, light pared back to essentials, the façade reading as both mask and invitation. The geometry feels ritualistic—thresholds, decks, and rails framing the quiet theater of arrival that defines so much of queer life here. It’s not nostalgia; it’s presence.
