"This book was created as a time capsule celebrating the memories I made with my coworkers during the summer of
2023. Too much of iconic Fire Island photography is devoted to only highlighting buff white bodies, so for this series, I wanted to showcase the beautiful, predominantly POC people who create the Fire Island experience we all enjoy. This is my way of celebrating and giving flowers to the pillars of this community that often go unseen. Now, when you google 'Fire Island Pines,' it'll be a lot more colorful." - Missleidy Rodriguez
